Hale Hawai’i is a non-profit organization seeking to bring awareness to and save the landscapes of Hawai’i. This organization takes a more relaxed approach seeking to remind visitors that Hawai’i is a home, not just a vacation. Remember how you would treat your neighbor’s house, and when in Hawai’i, act the same.
The objective of this project was to take a conflict and look for a new way to resolve it. From here, products were developed to be purchased or handed out at events when donations are made. These products are also all made by Hawai’i based artisans from materials that will not harm the earth if misplaced in the environment. There was a focus on remaining streamlined and not leaning into the vacation ideas of Hawai’i but rather a reminder of its beauty.
The logo is meant to remind people that Hawai'i is not just an island, but a home.

Having biodegradable products was important to me so landfill would not become an issue on the islands. These coasters are made out of seed paper that replenish flowers.
The soap is both good for the environment and made by artisans on the islands, providing jobs to the local communnity.
The biggest focus was the message. Finding ways to give people a reason to read it. Waiting for the shower to warm and looking at the box, waiting on a friend headed to the restaurant and reading the coasters, etc. The emphasis is driving people to want to know more, leaving constant reminders this is a place people live so hopefully they will take care of it when visiting.
